The Fiesta 5k Challenge, a beloved annual tradition taking place each spring since 2007, has garnered substantial participation over the years. Enthusiastic individuals from diverse backgrounds converge to run, walk, or roll in wheelchairs, uniting in a shared commitment to raise crucial funds for the Emory ALS Center.
This lively event has become a beacon of community engagement, drawing in thousands of participants eager to make a meaningful impact in the fight against ALS. Whether sprinting towards the finish line, strolling at a leisurely pace, or navigating the course in a wheelchair, every step contributes to the overarching goal of supporting the Emory ALS Center’s research and initiatives.
For those unable to physically attend on race day, the “Virtual Runner” option provides an opportunity to participate from anywhere in the world. This innovative feature allows individuals to contribute to the cause, emphasizing the event’s commitment to accessibility and community involvement.
Join us in the Fiesta 5k Challenge as we lace up our sneakers, roll up our sleeves, and come together to make a difference. In the spirit of camaraderie and support, let’s continue the tradition of turning every stride into hope for those affected by ALS.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A SPONSOR OF THE FIESTA 5K CHALLENGE?
Why sponsor the Fiesta 5k Challenge?
As a sponsor of the Fiesta 5k Challenge, you will join us in making an impact on stopping this disease. 100% of the funds raised supports groundbreaking research at Emory toward a cure or effective treatment for ALS. Sponsors will be featured on the website and social media and are invited to set up on race day to interact with participants and spectators.
Since 2007, Team Duffy/Cure for ALS has hosted the event that brings entire families out to participate in this well-organized race on the beautiful Big Creek Greenway in Cumming, GA. The Fiesta 5k Challenge has raised over $550,000 for the Emory ALS Center. ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a neuromuscular disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord. It takes away the ability to move, speak, swallow and ultimately breathe. The Emory ALS Center is part of the Emory Brain Health Center, led by Dr. Jonathan Glass, is one of the largest clinical centers for ALS in the United States.
